The Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification web site contains a list of the name, certification, year of expiration, city, and state of residence of all currently certified individuals. The program does not give out contact information of attendees, as that is considered private. If you do not wish to have certification information listed on the web site, contact email@example.com to request that it be withheld.
Regular certifications are valid for three years after you take the course and pass the exam. Your expiration date is printed on your certification card. If your certification is expiring, you will need to recertify before the next construction season. Note that most courses will have already been offered by certification deadline, so plan ahead.
You can take the recertification course at any time during your three-year certification period and renew your three-year certification from the current date. You must attend a re-certification class before the expiration date of your certification to keep your certification valid. If your certification has lapsed, you are not eligible for the recertification course and must take the regular course again. Please contact us for more information or regarding extenuating circumstances.
Registrations are processed on a first-come first-served basis. Class sizes are limited, so early registration is encouraged for best selection of classes. Registrations cannot be processed without payment. You may pay by check, credit card, or government purchase order.
All certification classes include a written exam. The exam is mostly multiple-choice questions, and will start about 3:30 p.m.
Provisional certifications earned this summer are valid through May 31. You must then register for a regular course if you wish to continue certification. Note that most courses will have already been offered by May 31, so plan ahead. Click here for the Provisional Application Form.
The Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification Program offers in-house training. If you have 25 or more people who need training, we can bring the certification class to your facility. We have a limited number of dates available this winter and spring. Please contact us for additional information.
Register by the deadline (postmarked one week in advance) to get a $25 discount and for best selection of classes. It also helps us to plan for an adequate amount of course materials and refreshments.
You may substitute another person's registration for your own; we request notification no less than two working days before the course.
A "late fee" of $25 will be added to the "Earlybird Registration Fee" if you register within seven calendar days of the class.
If you fail to appear at the course, you will forfeit your entire registration fee. Failure to appear at the course due to inclement weather will also follow this policy.
Cancellations and Weather
Cancellations will be accepted up to seven calendar days prior to the course with a $25 Cancellation Fee. If you cancel after that time, or if you fail to appear at the course, you will forfeit your entire registration fee. Failure to appear at the course due to inclement weather will also follow this policy. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or fax (612-626-6030). No refunds will be provided in the event that a class is canceled due to inclement weather.
Your workshop fee includes all reference materials. Please bring notepaper, pencils and a calculator.
To request disability accommodations, please contact the University of Minnesota at 612-625-9733 or 1-800-646-2282 at least three weeks prior to the scheduled course.
